A personal note
Why we offer it
We came to breathwork while looking for ways to work with anxiety. Experiencing how breath, music and a supportive space could change our relationship with it led us to begin sharing the practice with others.
We offer a weekly small-group session at the Stayfly shala, and private sessions for your own group by request.

Beginners and experienced
Who it is for
Suitable for beginners and for people with experience.
- A small group of no more than 12 people
- Personal space on your own mat
- A supportive pace, with the choice to soften or pause at any moment
- No previous breathwork experience required
- Intensity is not the measure of a successful session
People come for many reasons: living on Koh Phangan, staying a while, working remotely, making things, travelling with wellbeing in mind, or moving through a period of stress, overwhelm, disconnection or transition. The session offers a supported space to breathe. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any of these experiences.

Safety and suitability
This is a facilitated wellbeing experience. It is not medical or psychological treatment, and nothing here diagnoses or treats any condition.
- Conscious connected breathing is an active practice. Please contact the facilitator before booking if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, high blood pressure, epilepsy or a seizure history, glaucoma or a recent eye surgery, a recent surgery or injury, or a current mental health crisis.
- If you take medication that affects breathing, blood pressure or mood, ask your doctor first. Never change prescribed medication in order to attend.
- You can soften the breath, return to natural breathing, sit up, open your eyes or stop at any time. Touch is never part of the session without your clear agreement.
- If you are unsure, write before you book. A private question costs nothing and is always welcome.
Preparing for the session
- Eat lightly, and finish any meal at least two hours before we begin.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a layer for the rest period.
- Bring water and anything you personally need to rest comfortably.
- Arrive fifteen minutes early so the briefing can start on time.

Practical information
Questions
The educational guide on the Awakenest site explains the practice families, the science and the safety choices in full.

What should I bring?
Water and a light layer for the rest period.
What should I wear?
Loose, comfortable clothing you can lie down in. A warm layer can be useful during the quieter rest at the end.
Do I need experience?
No. The session is guided from the first breath, and the pace is set so that a beginner and an experienced participant can share the same room. Intensity is not the goal.
When should I arrive?
About fifteen minutes before the start time. The garden walk takes a few minutes and the briefing begins on time so the breathing has its full space.
Can I eat before the session?
A light meal is fine, finished at least two hours before we begin. Deep breathing on a full stomach is uncomfortable.
Can we book a private group?
Yes. Private sessions are arranged by request so the date, the group size and any particular needs can be discussed first. Use the private group form on this page.
What if I need to cancel?
Write to us as early as you can. The cancellation and refund terms for public sessions will be published on this page before the first date goes on sale.
I have a health question. Who do I ask?
Write privately by email before booking. You will get a plain answer, and if this practice is not right for you now, we will say so and suggest a gentler alternative.
