Stayfly provides the land, spaces, infrastructure, technical systems and organisational base through which Awakenest is developed and produced.

Sound, wellbeing and human response
Exploratory research, in progress, run in-house.
Stayfly investigates how sound environments, musical structure and contemplative practice relate to what a person experiences and to what can be measured, with EEG in our own practice. The full account of the work, its scale and its boundary is on the research page.
What we operate
Five areas of work

At Stayfly
The property on Koh Phangan is operated daily by a small team, with the company's recording facilities, Control Room and sound and lighting infrastructure on site. The spaces in which Awakenest happens are Awakenest's, and are described on its site.

Awakenest
The concept was developed from 2019. The first edition ran in 2024, and three editions have run to date. The second and third editions ran without sponsors.
Awakenest is now entering its official launch phase. The festival, the community programmes, the programme themes and the thematic areas are described on the Awakenest website.

Music Lounge and technical
Stayfly owns and runs the Music Lounge, a recording and production space with a rehearsal room, Control Room, and sound and lighting infrastructure used across the property. Sessions are available at the venue.
Music Lounge sessions and equipment are requested through the Stayfly gear page. Rates are quoted at the venue.
The same rooms and the same playback chain are what let a listening condition be set up, repeated and compared, which is the practical basis of the research described on its own page.

Platform
Awakenest OS is the in-house platform for venue operations, bookings, ticketing and event management. It is built in-house and runs this website and the Awakenest website.
Bookings, ticketing, check-in and the operating consoles run on it today. It is developed continuously and is not yet tested under live event load.

Land
The Awakenest archive contains photographs of a garden plot, seedlings and a nursery area on the property.
Current plot requests and land activities are published by Awakenest when they are available.

How we take care
- People
- A small team runs the property daily. Volunteer and facilitator applications are reviewed by the team before any role is activated.
- Place
- Stayfly operates the Koh Phangan property where Awakenest is based.
- Resources
- The Awakenest archive documents labelled waste sorting at past events. Current land practices are described on the Awakenest site.
- Culture
- Practice and place names keep their Thai forms: เมดิซีนเซอร์เคิล for Medicine Circle and เมดิซีนมิวสิก for Medicine Music. The Awakenest site is published in Thai and English.
- Operations
- Bookings, tickets and check-in run on Awakenest OS, built in-house and still in development. The privacy policy and terms are published on this site.
Relationships
Connected to a wider community
Stayfly Studio Co., Ltd. is Thai-registered and 100% Thai-owned. Stayfly is on Koh Phangan, in Surat Thani province.
The published Awakenest programmes record local participation: Thai traditional performing arts by Koh Phangan Suksa School in 2025, a Coconut Station with demonstrations by local women and Ban Maduea Wan School, and Forum sessions on the island's economy, education and tourism.
Medicine Circle gatherings have also been held at Thong Sala Pier, with free entry, in August 2024 and July 2025.
Stayfly is open to relationships with local communities, public and educational institutions, cultural and environmental organisations, researchers and artists where there are shared aims.
