A Place to Gather
Jaran's began when Khane opened her family property as a shala for hire, offering food and homemade snacks alongside the gatherings held there.
It was a welcoming place, created with care, but the business did not immediately find the footing it needed.

A Different Path
When the property was later placed on the market, Khane faced a difficult decision.
She did not want her family land to lose its local roots or simply be sold to an overseas company. She hoped there might be another way for the place to grow while remaining connected to its history, its community, and the island.
Growing with Awakenest
That path emerged through a partnership with Stayfly Studio Co., Ltd., which invested in the space as the prototype home of Awakenest Festival. The partnership gave the property a new direction and marked the beginning of the permaculture project on the land.
As the gardens and natural food systems began to take shape, Khane returned to one of her own passions: making fermented drinks, natural food, and homemade snacks. Gardening and growing vegetables became part of the work too, bringing the kitchen and the land closer together.

Jaran's Eatery Today
Jaran's Eatery is the next chapter of that story.
Its evolving range begins with kombucha and will continue to grow through thoughtfully made drinks, food, snacks, and produce inspired by the garden, the seasons, and the people around it.
